You can be a musical sleuth by finding notes
in any kind of music! Here's how:
- Select a piece of music. It can be from your music text book,
your Music Express magazine, a piano book, a piece of music from your
teacher or a parent, or from a band book.
- Follow the instructions below to find and "capture" all of the
different kinds of notes in that piece of music.
- With a pencil, draw a circle around each half note.
- Place an X on each quarter note.
- Draw a square around every whole note that you find.
- Place a checkmark on each eighth note in the piece.
- Turn in your detective report to your teacher or a parent or friend.
Great work, Private Eye!
